Pucsinwah

Pucsinwah (Poo-shin-wah) means "Hard Striker" in the Shawnee language. It was chosen to honor the great Shawnee War Chief of the same name. He led the Shawnee to may victories in the late 1700's and served as the personal bodyguard of the famous Cherokee Sequoyah. Pucsinwah was killed in the Battle of Point Pleasant. His son Tecumseh carried on his legacy and sought to align all of the tribes together into a confederacy to challenge the then 17 United States with equal power. The Shawnee sought to regain their ancestral lands west of the Ohio River. Due to miscommunication, Tecumseh's younger brother, The Prophet, attacked before Tecumseh was ready. Despite direct orders from the President of the United States to not engage with the Shawnee no matter what happened, Indiana governor William Henry Harrison ordered his troops to meet the Shawnee head on. The Shawnee village suffered horrible damage. This defeat known as the Battle of Tippecanoe caused the alliance to break up and Tecumseh's dream of recovering his people's lands to die.

Pucsinwah, the stallion, was born on our farm to the Bookcliff/HOA foundation mare Little Star Sparkling and our East/West cross stallion Dancin' Hawk.

"Puc" as a newborn with his dam Little Star Sparkling.
Born an unusual shade of creamy gray he slowly matured to a beautiful blue corn color, very similar to that of his granddam Little Thing.
