We have been Colonial Spanish horse owners for over 30 years.

This page is dedicated to our first horses.

Storm Cloud and Night Walker

Storm Cloud (HOA I.P. #11) and Night Walker (HOA C.I.P #10) were 1/2 brothers bred by Pete Hansen of AZ. We purchased the pair as yearlings in 1972. Tom's was the flashy olive grulla with chrome. Della chose the black overo and named him Night Walker after the Navajo belief that a horse that had a bald face and four white feet had eyes that could see at night. The boys were brought home to grow and after much love and work were trained to saddle with the help of a friend.

We often went trail riding with other couples and friends who enjoyed teasing us about our "small" horses. It wasnt long before the abilities of Night Walker and Storm Cloud became well known. Now we were the ones laughing as a friendly rivalry broke out among the other riders. They were constantly competing to see who could find a horse that could step out like ours and keep up with them. They never did find any that could.

This is Night Walker as an aged gelding.

He and Storm Cloud lived happy, healthy lives and were with us until their deaths. Both geldings lived to be in their twenties.

Dancin' Hawk

Hawk was our third Colonial Spanish horse and the start of our breeding progam. Please click on his name to go to his page.
